Cancellation Policy

I understand that plans sometimes change. This policy explains the arrangements for cancelling, rescheduling or missing an appointment with A Beautiful Mess Counselling & Psychotherapy (ABM).

Last updated: September 2026

1. Payment before your appointment

Private appointments must be paid in full at least 24 hours before the scheduled appointment time.

Payment can be made by card through Halaxy or by bank transfer using the payment details provided.

If payment has not been received by the required time, I may contact you regarding payment and may cancel or release the appointment.

2. Cancelling or rescheduling with at least 24 hours' notice

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please provide at least 24 hours' notice.

There is no cancellation fee when at least 24 hours' notice is provided.

If you have already paid for the appointment, the payment can be transferred to your rescheduled appointment or refunded.

Example: If your appointment is at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, you need to cancel or reschedule by 3:00 pm on Tuesday.

3. Cancelling or rescheduling with less than 24 hours' notice

If you cancel or reschedule with less than 24 hours' notice, the full session fee will ordinarily apply.

If the appointment has already been paid for, the payment will ordinarily be retained as the cancellation fee.

I recognise that genuine emergencies and exceptional circumstances occur. These situations may be considered on a case-by-case basis, and a cancellation fee may be reduced or waived at ABM's discretion.

4. Missed appointments

If you do not attend your appointment and have not provided notice, the full session fee will ordinarily apply.

5. Arriving late

If you arrive late, your session will generally still finish at the originally scheduled time so that subsequent appointments are not affected.

The full session fee remains payable.

6. NDIS-funded appointments

For NDIS-funded services, cancellation and non-attendance charges will be managed in accordance with the current NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits, where applicable, and the terms of your service agreement.

7. Questions or exceptional circumstances

If something unexpected affects your ability to attend an appointment, please contact me as soon as possible.

I aim to apply this policy consistently while recognising that genuine exceptional circumstances can occur.
